Edward U. Condon (1902-1974) was an American physicist and former director of the National Bureau of Standards who led the University of Colorado UFO study from 1966 to 1968, resulting in the 1969 "Condon Report" which concluded that further scientific study of UFOs was unlikely to yield useful knowledge. He is cited in the archive in the 1971 Australian Department of Defence UFO assessment.
