1 mentions
Edward J. Ruppelt (1923-1960) was a United States Air Force captain who headed Project Blue Book, the Air Force's official UFO investigation program, from 1951 to 1953. He standardized the investigation process and is credited with coining the term "unidentified flying object" (UFO) as a neutral replacement for "flying saucer." He appears in the archive in the context of the Robertson Panel Report of 1952-1953.
