Tony LeVier (1913–1998) was a celebrated Lockheed test pilot who is credited with conducting the first flight of the U-2 reconnaissance aircraft in 1955, after selecting the dry lakebed at Groom Lake (Area 51) as the test site. He appears in the archive in connection with the CIA's history of the U-2 and OXCART overhead reconnaissance programs.
