Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom (1926–1967) was a U.S. Air Force test pilot and NASA astronaut who flew the Liberty Bell 7 suborbital mission (Mercury-Redstone 4) in 1961 and later commanded Gemini 3, the first crewed Gemini flight. He appears in the archive in connection with NASA astronaut scientific debriefings of 1962–1963 and was killed in the Apollo 1 cabin fire in January 1967.
