Wilbur B. Smith (1910–1962) was a Canadian radio engineer employed by the Canadian Department of Transport who conducted an unofficial investigation into flying saucer reports beginning around 1949, establishing what became known as Project Magnet. He appears in the archive in a December 1953 CIA memorandum as the Canadian government figure running flying saucer investigations and operating a monitoring laboratory.
