PURSUE Release 6 Is Here

The U.S. Department of War's sixth declassified UAP release, published on 18 September 2026, has been processed, researched and added to the archive. It opens two entirely new chapters: the Defense Intelligence Agency program that studied future aerospace technologies, and the first UAP report from a local police officer.

Release 6 adds 50 new bilingual research articles written directly from its 56 documents, plus 15 videos, an hour-long audio recording and two infrared stills. We read every document, wrote original research and translated it, and folded all of it into the archive. Here is what was added.

What's New in Release 6

  • 50 new bilingual research articles, and two new categories: AAWSAP and Local Law Enforcement.
  • The Project Blue Book file on the 1952 Tremonton, Utah film, the photo file on the "pillow balloon" hypothesis, photographer Delbert Newhouse's Navy personnel record, and Air Force intelligence's late-1952 flying-discs file, alongside the film itself.
  • The transcript and full recording of Capt. Edward Ruppelt's March 1952 presentation: "about 20% of the 800 or 900 reports" unexplained, and clusters of sightings around Los Alamos, Albuquerque and Oak Ridge.
  • The founding records of the DIA's AAWSAP program (2008-2012): the Statement of Objectives with its 12 research areas, the contract award to BAASS, and all five contract modifications.
  • All 37 AAWSAP Defense Intelligence Reference Documents (DIRDs), from metallic glasses to warp drives, traversable wormholes and anomalous field effects on human tissue.
  • Four military mission reports (MISREPs) from Iraq and the Middle East (2022-2025), and the first UAP report from a local police department, in Colorado (2023).

The Complete Tremonton File

On 2 July 1952, Navy Chief Warrant Officer Delbert Newhouse filmed 12 to 14 bright objects over Tremonton, Utah. Release 5 published the Navy's 1953 analysis of the film; Release 6 completes the picture: the Air Force investigation, the pillow-balloon review with General Mills, the photographer's service record, and the film itself.

AAWSAP: The DIA's Program

The Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP) was run by the Defense Intelligence Agency from 2008 to 2012 and performed under contract by Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS). Its stated aim: to assess foreign aerospace threats out to 2050 by understanding the physics and engineering of breakthrough technologies. These are its founding records.

A DIRD is the DIA's technical reference format: a survey and synthesis of what is known on a topic, not original research. Author names are redacted. The complete list, in document order:

Modern Reports and Law Enforcement

New Media

Fifteen new videos: the historic Tremonton film, four smartphone videos from the Colorado officer, four CENTCOM infrared videos from the Middle East linked to the mission reports, and six INDOPACOM videos from the Yellow Sea and East China Sea (2023). Alongside them: the full audio recording of the Ruppelt presentation, and two infrared stills from Iraq.

Why It Matters

  • For the first time the Tremonton case can be read from every side: the witness, the film, the Navy analysis, and an Air Force assessment that moved from "Unknown" in 1952 to "little reasonable doubt" of seagulls in 1956, while one internal memo worried it "would be rather poor policy to state that the Navy had made an error."
  • The Ruppelt presentation captures the Air Force in 1952, on the eve of Project Blue Book, saying aloud that roughly a fifth of its cases remained unexplained, and planning instruments to collect physical data.
  • The AAWSAP records show exactly what the DIA asked for and paid for, and let each DIRD be judged on what it actually says rather than on the rumours around it.
