Summary

This is an FBI FD-1057 Electronic Communication — a standard FBI form for recording investigative activity — dated November 2024, documenting UAP observations made by two FBI Special Agents (SAs) and a cooperating civilian witness during an active investigation in the northeastern United States. The document is heavily redacted: all names of agents, witnesses, location names, body of water names, and the full case number are blacked out. What remains describes a sequence of anomalous light phenomena observed over approximately ninety minutes from a private residence, near a wooded area adjacent to a body of water.

The document is part of a series: the official blurb states that "the subject matter described in files FBI-UAP-D004 through FBI-UAP-D008 and depicted in the video footage FBI-UAP-PR001 through FBI-UAP-PR003 corresponds to reports originating from the same general area in the northeastern United States." This document is the sixth in the FD-1057 series for this location (FD-1057-06).

Background and investigative context

On a date in November 2024 (day redacted), two FBI Special Agents visited the home of a redacted individual, whose identity is fully withheld, to confirm reports and video that the cooperating witness had previously provided of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena over the preceding three years. The purpose of the visit was verification of prior reports — not a first contact. Weather at the time of the surveillance was approximately 48 degrees Fahrenheit, with overcast conditions and no precipitation. Official sunset time is redacted.

First observations: approximately 4:45 PM

At approximately 4:45 PM, Agents and the witness went out to the witness's patio on the north side of his home. The witness initially pointed out lights in the distance which he believed to be homes and other permanent structures, and also pointed to lights he claimed to be eight miles away but could not identify with certainty.

Approximately twenty minutes later — around 5:05 PM — one Special Agent observed what the agent believed to be a UAP. In a direction that is redacted, the agent saw "a white pulsation of light appear." The light appeared to be at the northern edge of a redacted body of water and began to move horizontally with "somewhat erratic movements." The light did not appear to reflect off the water of the redacted body, suggesting the light source was over a wooded area to the north. The light source did not appear to illuminate the area below it or the water surface. "The light appeared to an altitude at or below the tree line." The white light "danced around less than ten seconds, moving side to side, and then disappeared."

Secondary light phenomena: tree-line lights and plumes

Within the tree line to the west of the witness's home, Agents observed additional light phenomena. On multiple occasions, one Special Agent observed white lights appear at the top of the tree line; these lights "would pulse and flash in white/blue hue and then disappear." These lights did not move as erratically as the first phenomenon and appeared more stationary. The same agent also observed "plumes of broad light appearing for several seconds before a flash of light, either red or white appeared, and moved erratically before disappearing."

Photographic attempts

One Special Agent attempted to photograph the observed UAP activity. Five photos were taken, however the photos were "mostly blurry and do not provide much context." It was subsequently determined that "a tripod or other stable platform would be required as the long exposure of the camera aperture would not yield clear images." The five photographs are enclosed with the communication.

Second sighting: approximately 5:30 PM

At approximately 5:15 PM additional family members of the witness arrived home. After a brief interval inside, the group returned to the patio. At approximately 5:30 PM, both Special Agents together observed what they believed to be a UAP in the same location as the earlier sighting. The phenomenon "appeared as a bright white light above a bright red light at the far end of the pond," hovering at approximately tree-top height. It "moved quickly from right to left, disappeared, then reappeared simultaneously where it had first appeared, moved quickly from right to left and disappeared again." Both Agents observed this activity.

Conclusion of surveillance

Agents and the witness remained on the patio and in the backyard observing activity until approximately 6:10 PM, then went inside to download the most recent photos and videos the witness had taken of activity behind his residence. Agents departed the witness's home at approximately 6:15 PM.

Significance

This document is notable as a rare instance of FBI Special Agents serving as direct observational witnesses to UAP phenomena in the context of a formal, ongoing investigation. The observations span multiple distinct phenomena — pulsating white lights, white-blue tree-line lights, broad light plumes, and a two-toned white-and-red object exhibiting apparent instantaneous repositioning — all in the same geographic area within a single ninety-minute window. The agents' own photography yielded insufficient evidence, underscoring the observational and evidentiary challenges inherent in field UAP documentation. The broader FBI-UAP-D004 through D008 series, combined with three associated video releases, represents a significant cluster of documented, agent-witnessed UAP activity in a single northeastern U.S. location in late 2024.
